THE two seeds came through contrasting semi-finals last night to set up a meeting in tomorrow's Intertrust Island Women's Championship final.

Defending champion Aimee Ponte registered her second straight 8 and 7 win at La Grande Mare, although she was much happier with her performance this time around.

Helen Banks was given little chance by the teenager, who estimated herself at being no worse than level par for her 11 holes, which included a couple of birdies as she booked her place in a fifth consecutive final.

Kay Mapley will be the opponent out to prevent Ponte claiming her fourth title and first on at LGM tomorrow after overcoming another multiple former champion in Veronica Bougourd in a closely-fought encounter.
