WITH the Island Games just six months away, Colin Fallaize does not believe 'burnout' will be an issue for Guernsey's top footballers.

The vast majority, possibly all, of the 20-man squad that will be named in March will probably being made up of Guernsey FC players as a number have already declared their interest in travelling.

Concerns have been raised by some that playing two 50-game Green Lion campaigns either side of a gruelling week-long tournament in Jersey will cause problems with fatigue.

However, Fallaize – who is GFC assistant coach and will be Steve Sharman's assistant with the representative side in the summer – does not buy into that theory.

'At the end of the day, it is just a game of football, a sport and people's hobby, there are people out there having to work far harder than that just to make a living.'
