Condor deal ‘must be in place by month end’


A DEAL to secure the long-term future of the island’s ferry service needs to be in place by the end of this month before a new £50m. vessel can be introduced, Condor Ferries has revealed.

A FRENCH judge yesterday called for more time in the manslaughter trial of the captain and first mate of a high speed Condor ferry that collided in thick fog with a French fishing boat in March 2011, killing its captain, Philippe Lesaulnier, a 42-year-old father of four.
