Lé Guernésiais est, oprès tout, la monière par tchi en amas des gens dé l'île embllutaient les Allemands qui parlaient l'Angllais durànt l'Otchupatiaon.
La Commissiaon pour la Langue Guernésiaise a aën simplle objet. A n'imagine pas qu'au temps-à-v'ni tous pourraont parlaïr lé Guernésiais. Chu bâté-là est parti. Mais i n'veurt pas, nitou, enn'avenir éiouque la langue dé l'île a disparu et enn'importànte partie dé sa culture a étai perdue à jomais.
Mesme si les gens faont servir parfeis tchiques phrases simplles, chena fournit aën llian daouve enn'heritage qu'était là i y a des chentôines d'onnaïes. Comme lé Jour dé la Liberatiaon, lé Guernésiais nous fait pensaïr à tchi qu'nous est et à tchi qui a fait les gens des îles, enne race forte et independànte mêlaïe daouve les millaeures d'la France et d'l'Anglleterre.
La Commissiaon espère qu'a pourra aidgier à tous les différents groupes qui poussent en d'vànt lé Guernésiais, et qué l'île n'era pas perdu enne partie dé s'n identitaïe essentièlle.
Comme lé Jour dé la Libératiaon, chena vaout la poine dé célébraïr.

What better day to launch an initiative aimed at preserving Guernsey's own language than Liberation Day, the island's special day?
Guernésiais is, after all, the means by which many islanders foxed English-speaking Germans during the Occupation.
The Guernsey Language Commission has a simple aim. It does not imagine a future where we are all fluent in Guernsey French. That boat has sailed. But nor does it want a future where the island's language has disappeared and an important part of its culture has been lost forever.
Even the use of a few simple phrases now and again provides a link to a heritage that goes back hundreds of years. Like Liberation Day, Guernésiais reminds us of who we are and what has made islanders the tough, independent breed blended from the best of France and England.
The commission hopes that it can help all the various groups promoting Guernsey French to ensure that, with the eventual passing of the last generations of fluent speakers, the island does not lose a vital part of its identity.
Like Liberation Day, that has to be worth celebrating.
