Police attend Les Beaucamps after call from pupil with knife

A PUPIL called the emergency services to say they had a knife in the playing field at Les Beaucamps High.

The Joint Emergency Services Control Centre received the call at 12.30pm.

Unarmed officers spoke with the pupil who was arrested for possession of an offensive weapon.

After being removed from school grounds, the student was de-arrested and transferred to the care of health professionals.

Les Beaucamps principal Martin Haimes said: ‘There was an incident at lunchtime today which required the police to attend.

'Nobody was hurt during the incident, which was safely resolved by the police. The incident occurred on the school’s field and all other students were escorted inside. The school quickly returned to normal activity.’
