The company, part of the Watches of Switzerland Group, carried out an extensive refurbishment to its base on the corner of the Arcade, a listed building, which now incorporates a second showroom.

The shop now includes a Rolex showroom and Omega and Breitling boutiques, with separate entrances and a connecting portal, ‘delivering the finest product offering to clients in the distinctive brand environments where our clients can also enjoy the best in luxury retail hospitality,’ said Craig Bolton, president of the Watches of Switzerland Group UK and Europe.

‘The aim was to create an aesthetically pleasing and well-designed showroom, providing our clients with a relaxed, luxury shopping experience that differs to any other jewellery showroom.’

The Rolex room leads into the Mappin & Webb jewellery showroom, which includes own-brand collections and branded jewellery from FOPE and Mikimoto.

The company said that it had taken inspiration for the Guernsey development from its showroom concept, first opened in York earlier this year.

‘We have had a showroom in Guernsey for several years with a loyal client base,’ it said.

‘It was very important to use this concept in the refurbishment of our Guernsey showroom with this new concept and we are delighted with the execution and how it has been received.

‘Investing in our showrooms has always been a priority to us, there is no better way for us to showcase our own brand and the luxury brands that we stock.’

Company history

Mappin & Webb has more than 245 years of tradition and historical significance in the world of silver and fine jewellery. It is a story that began in 1775, when Jonathan Mappin opened a workshop in Sheffield, intending to make silverware for British society.

The company expanded internationally, received royal warrants and commissions from global royalty and became synonymous with excellence and craftsmanship.

Mappin & Webb has been silversmiths to all the United Kingdom’s sovereigns since 1897.
