COLLINS STEWART moved level on points with La Fraternelle Rovers One following a comprehensive defeat of Newton Juniors. Simon Le Blancq's team were quick off the mark and amassed 35 points in the first quarter before the Juniors had had time to acclimatise to the pace of the game.

Lee Ogier showed what speed he possesses as he hared down court to finish the lay-up before the Juniors had retreated into defence.

His 31 points were the foundation on which the rest of the team played and on this showing he should be an exciting prospect later in the year.

Greg Chester had a good game in and around the key with 17 points but Jamie Roussel quietly collected 29 points without appearing to from both sides of the arc.

Luke Archenoul displayed excellent control at the top of the key and besides his 16 points showed how much the Juniors depend on his ball-handling skills that must not have gone unnoticed by island coach Le Blancq who had his hands full when defending against him.

A comfortable win for Collins Stewart but the Island Junior coach Charlie Archenoul was pleased with the way his team stuck to their task and are beginning to gel as they prepare for the inter-insular in four weeks' time.

Richmond Worriers opened a three-point gap in Division Three with a narrow win over Ship & Crown, for whom Liz Kerr top-scored again, this time with 17.
