U-11s win two matches on tour

GUERNSEY'S young cricketers won both completed games on their tour to Portsmouth and the Isle of Wight. The batsmen dominated against both Portsmouth Grammar School and Portsmouth Community and the visitors were in a strong position against the Isle of Wight when rain called a halt to proceedings.

The attitude and the team spirit of the side were first class.

Tim Ravenscroft and Andrew Dawson-Ball batted well while Andrew Hutchinson was the pick of the bowlers with tour figures of three for 22 from his 10 overs.

Team manager Jon Ravenscroft was delighted with how the side performed.

'All of the hard work in the winter is starting to pay off,' he said.
