THE biggest game in Channel Islands cricket is set for a major makeover. For the next three years the annual inter-insular is to be known as the Cherry Godfrey Challenge.

Yesterday saw Guernsey Cricket Association president and Albert Brown, his opposite number at the JCA, put pen to the deal which will see the game take on a more international feel.

In the same way as Cherry Godfrey's involvement with the Muratti Vase has raised public awareness, the new sponsors' representatives are keen to attract bigger crowds and provide them with more entertainment than before.

Tim Duke is one man looking increasingly likely to be in the Guernsey side for the 2003 game at KGV on Saturday 9 August and last night smashed 72 not out as Pessimists beat Rovers.
