TOTAL COBO eased back onto the top rung of the Barclays Premier One ladder with a convincing six-wicket win over an Aon St Saviour's side seemingly going through the motions. Not that Stuart Le Prevost's men in navy blue were complaining.

With three matches remaining - against Sylvans, Rovers and Optimists - they have as good a chance as anyone of lifting the title.

Nobody was more instrumental in the latest success than all-rounder Gary Rich.

After opening bowlers Rob Turville and Liam Smyth had tied the light blues down to 35 in 10 overs, the off-spinner benefitted from the Saints' push for quick runs in the second half of the innings.

With keeper Justin Ferbrache claiming three stumpings and catches for Le Prevost and Smyth at extra-cover and long-off respectively, the Cobo stalwart grabbed the umpteenth five-wicket haul of his long Cobo career.

But he wasn't finished yet.

After three Cobo wickets went down for 33 Rich and Le Prevost ensured Cobo of the points with some lusty strokeplay off mediocre bowling.

Rich his the flattest of straight sixes you will see at KGV this season in racing to 26 not out, while Le Prevost hit one soaring six into the Blancs Bois end trees.

Victory came with five overs left.

At Delancey Park Parishioners Goldridge Stone's Sam Taylor slammed a quickfire century against NRG Pessimists C in Reserve Three.

Taylor struck 10 fours and two sixes in his unbeaten 105.
