MARK POOLE is the king of Fantasy Cricket. The former Guernsey opening bowler followed up his success in the World Cup competition by comfortably winning the Goldridge Stone fantasy game based on Barclays Premier One.

His total of 4,677 points gave him a winning margin of 292 and the prize of a trip for two to a one-day international or test match in England next summer.

Runner-up was young Hannah Belton, daughter of Tim, another former island player, and she wins a £50 Intersport voucher.

In the team competition, Hannah and her brother, Toby, helped their father's team to first place by a massive margin of 1,421 points. That earned them £200-worth of Intersport vouchers.

The most valuable player of the competition was DHS St Pierre and Guernsey all-rounder Glenn Milnes who notched up 899 points, 31 more than Tim Duke of NRG Pessimists who played two games fewer than the New Zealander due to his hand injury in the middle of the season.

The leading batsman of the competition was Optimists and Guernsey captain Andy Biggins (442) while the island manager, Dave Hearse, proved that he is still capable of doing an excellent job on the field by being the leading bowler with 393 points.

Another St Pierre player, Vince Kenny, topped the points in the wicket-keeper category.

A word should also go to Sylvans players Richard Gallienne and Pete Inniss who proved themselves to be bargains as the leading one-pointers. Gallienne finished with 548 points to his name while Inniss, who missed games during the season, accumulated 381.
