OLD ELIZABETHAN Huw Lewis-Jones has been awarded his Harvard Crimson for playing in the Ivy League Varsity match against Yale in rugby union. The former Elizabeth College rugby captain is on a sabbatical at Harvard as a 'visiting fellow' before returning to Cambridge next month to finish his PhD.

'I was playing at blindside flanker and we managed to beat them 29-16 to secure the Ivy League title,' Lewis-Jones said.

'It was the curtain- raiser to the annual Yale-Harvard football game, which was awesome. There were 55,000 people there; slightly fewer to watch us though.'

Lewis-Jones has already gained his Cambridge Blue in the Varsity match at rugby league.
