ISLAND wicket-keeper Justin Ferbrache is heading back to Guernsey. The Total Cobo and Guernsey keeper returns to the island next week after less than three months in New Zealand.

Ferbrache emigrated with his family in November, but things have not worked out as they had hoped and so they have decided on an early return.

A new Guernsey Cricket Association president will be elected tonight when the association holds its annual meeting at KGV.

Gary Tapp is standing down from the role which he took over at the end of the 2000 season and Dave Nussbaumer is the only nomination to have been received.

Aside of the presidency, there are other important issues on the agenda, such as the proposed changes to the Barclays Evening League.

One major alteration could see a return to eight-ball overs with a minimum of 12 overs per innings, a proposal made by Cobo in an attempt to reduce the turnaround time between overs.

Clubs are allowed one vote each, rather than one per team which used to be the case.
