AMI BANERJEE'S rich vein of form is continuing, now on the sub-continent. The Optimists all-rounder, Guernsey's man

of the match following the thrilling inter-insular

victory last summer, is piling on the runs for Mohun Bagan.

The team plays in India's CAB senior division in Kolkata (formerly Calcutta).

In two matches at the turn of the year, the Bengali, 31, hit two centuries.

The first, an unbeaten 104, came in Mohun Bagan's 242 for two chasing Paikpara's 241.

It was a performance that prompted the headline: 'Amitava ton helps Bagan win,' in The Telegraph in Kolkata.

Then, a week into the new year, Banerjee cracked another 103 and teammate Naushad Akhtar 107 as Mohun Bagan knocked off 330 for eight in reply to Netaji Subhas Institute's 327.

The Indian all-rounder returns to Guernsey in the next couple of months,

continuing mixing coaching with playing club

cricket for Optimists and giving Dave Hearse's island team two players for the price of one.

Before returning to India, Banerjee had spent some time coaching in Melbourne.
