HENRY HENKE's first competition as a L'Ancresse Golf Club member produced a dream start. The 23-handicap finished six up in the course and won the club's opening event of the season - the traditional Louie Goubert Cup against par competition - on countback from Simon Giles.
Despite difficult greens, 14 players managed to break par, including new white-handicap junior Tom Le Huray.
The highly-promising 13-year-old finished third, five up.
Le Huray sees his handicap sliced by two from 22 as a result.
Club captain Tim Mileham also enjoyed a good day, placing fifth on three up, while club champion Andy Eggo overcame an unhappy front nine to finish two down.
