AUSSIE Justin Meades blasted fives sixes in a quickfire 60 as Deloittes got off the mark in Barclays Division One last night. The newly-promoted side made light work of defeating Aon St Saviour's, winning by 47 runs in a 17-over game which came alive when Meades strutted to the middle at the fall of Deloittes' second wicket.

Meades, who missed the side's opening league game of the season, does not mess around.

With plenty of bottom hand and brutal strength he tucked into inadequate St Saviour's bowling as if it were prawns on the barbie.

With Bertie Salt keeping him for company, Meades blasted the ball here and everywhere, five times clearing the boundary as he reached his half-century off 23 balls.

Meades obviously has a big role to play as Deloittes seek to stay up, but on this evidence that should not be beyond Dave Clark's side.

St Saviour's never looked like getting near their massive 142 target.

Ross Bateman fell in the first over to an awful shot and Latif Khankashi took the vital wicket when he ripped Richard Veillard's middle stump out of the ground.

With Gary Tapp and Spencer Noyon sidelined by injuries there was no way back for the pale blues.

Meades showed his versatility with two wickets and there was another glimpse of newcomer Jim Goodwin, a handy new bowler.
