Osborne closes on leaders

BLAKE OSBORNE has moved closer to leaders Daniel Smith and Matt de Carteret at the top of Division One of the Guernsey Youth Bowling Club League.

BLAKE OSBORNE has moved closer to leaders Daniel Smith and Matt de Carteret at the top of Division One of the Guernsey Youth Bowling Club League. Ryan Thompson scored a 230 game as well as a 526 series and de Carteret a 215 game.

Matt Southwell and Damian Wrigley both hit a 208 game and the latter had high series with 568.

Among the girls, Kayleigh Marquis bowled an excellent 206-527, leading the way from Natalie Wrigley (205-503) with Lauren Hurford also scoring a 172 game.

Simon de Mouilpied jumped to second place in Division Two behind John Gauvain with Marie-Claire Savident in third.

De Mouilpied took the scoring honours with 179-419, followed by Gauvain's 382 series.

Savident led the girls with 155-404, with other good scores from Abigail Bingham, Jordan Priaulx and Stephanie Lowe.

The YAC league saw Aron Lamb score a fine 222 game, albeit when losing to Stuart Lowery who top-scored with a 576 series.

Jim Skaith (526 series), Paul Hurel (500 series) and Carl Roussel (195 game) were other high scorers.

In the next round of matches, Skaith increased his lead from second-placed Lowery with Danielle Le Couvey in third.

Steve Cutler top-scored with a 202-527, with Lowery and Hurel also scoring well, while for the girls, Le Couvey and Chloe Gunton-Bunn led the way.
