A SIGNIFICANT sponsorship deal from Barclays has secured the future of the Lord's Taverners County Cricket Challenge. Staged annually on the last weekend in September, the challenge is in its 10th year and is one of the sport charitiy's biggest fund-raisers.

On 25 September, defending county champions Sussex play fellow Division One side Kent in a Twenty20 showdown at KGV.

Lord's Taverner and event organiser Mike O'Hara is delighted to have secured a sponsor.

Not only does the sponsorship cover the county challenge but also the six-a-side corporate competition and golf day for local businesses.

School children will once again have the chance to get involved in the Kwik Cricket championships as well as enjoy the virtual cricket facilities at the England & Wales Cricket Board (EWC) Roadshow, which will be visiting the island.
