TOTAL COBO are just one victory away from landing the Carey Olsen Championship and skipper Peter Vidamour can hardly believe it after the side failed to win any of their first three games. A five-wicket win over Rovers on Sunday took them top of the table for the first time and a win in their final match against Clubhouse Optimists will be enough to secure the title.

'We knew we had to pull our fingers out and I did have a few strong words with the boys after we lost to Rovers the first time around.

'But, fair play to them, they have responded well and the good thing is everybody has contributed. Everybody is pulling his weight,' said the captain.

The stars of the latest victory and a full house of bonus points were TJ Ozanne and evening captain Stuart Le Prevost.

Ozanne wrecked the Rovers innings with six wickets. Two games ago he produced a vital knock.

'TJ has come on so well this year.

'He has found some maturity this year and he's now a good cricketer, a good bits-and-pieces guy.'

Le Prevost rushed Cobo towards their target with a quickfire 48, including 10 fours.
