BARRING mechanical failure or crashes, all the category leaders should have confirmed their victories in yesterday evening's final round of the mountainbike tour of Guernsey. There have been few changes in the standings since Tuesday evening.
The following day's event, an up-down-up at Le Coudre, saw James Roe take the senior honours in 2min. 40sec., 10 sec. clear of second-placed Rob Smart.
That win was enough for Roe to take the yellow jersey from Lars Persson.
John Mapley won the sports category from Mike Serafin, with Jack Sunderland third.
Josh Owen was the top under-16, while Sahun Moseley and Nathan Baudains won the veterans and under-14 classes respectively, each maintaining his 100 per cent winning records.
Action moved to the motocross course at Pleinmont on Thursday evening.
All the categories except the veterans were split in two, with a one-lap race deciding which riders would contest an A final and which a B.
Roe made it two wins in two days in the senior category, holding off the challenge of Chris Le Page.
Mapley again topped the sports class, Moseley the veterans, Owen the under-16s and Baudains the under-14s. Amanda Briggs completed the course to take the points in the women's category.
The tour reached its competitive conclusion yesterday evening with the D'uphill at Le Grantez.
Tomorrow morning there is a fun event at Jerbourg to round off the week's riding.
The under-12s will also have a race.
