DAVE HEARSE'S message to his players ahead of today's VisitGuernsey Four-Islands Tournament final was simple: 'Same again, please'. Guernsey finished their group matches with an impressive eight-wicket victory over the Isle of Man at the KGV yesterday and a repeat performance against the same opposition at the same venue will regain the Sarnians the trophy that they won at the inaugural tournament four years ago.
'Let's hope that the performance tomorrow is the same as the dress rehearsal,' said the Island manager after the latest win.
'It was good to have a game without a rain interruption and let's hope for the same tomorrow.
'We would like to take them on again and win and I am sure that they want to take us on again and turn the tables.'
Simon Watson and Robert Webber gave the Isle of Man a solid start with an opening partnership of 70, but they suddenly lost three wickets on the same score and Guernsey took control.
The home side's bowling and fielding were excellent and once again the wickets were shared around as the visitors ended on 154 for eight from their 50 overs.
Stuart Bisson and Matt Oliver got the reply off to a decent start before Garreth Roome dismissed both in quick succession, but that only brought together Guernsey's top pairing of Ami Banerjee and Jeremy Frith, who guided their side home with an unbroken stand of 116.
Jersey claimed their first victory of the week at the College Field where Andy Dewhurst made an unbeaten 70 from 109 balls to help see off Isle of Wight.
Rohan Mohanty's contribution of 37 from just 33 balls was also vital for the Caesareans and together with Dewhurst he put on 69 for the fifth wicket.
Earlier, Peter Gough had taken three wickets with his off spin while Nigel Crocker and Ben Silva had claimed two apiece.
Philip Baldwin scored an unbeaten 54 for the opposition.
