A NEW Sunday Soccer League season kicks off tomorrow. The Bowl FC will be looking to secure their fourth consecutive First Division title, while the major development is the withdrawal of Jamaica, the runners-up for the past three seasons.

Many of their better players have headed to a rejuvenated Tiger City-St Jacques, who are expected to provide a strong title challenge.

Newly-promoted Ounsworth D'cor Cosmos and Moorings Bar will both field strong squads and Alternative Solutions Wings will be looking to build on their cup success of last season.

Fermain Tavern, meanwhile, will be hopeful of a top-three finish.

Mariners and Le Bees FC are favourites to battle it out for the Second Division championship, but the new and youthful-looking Monty's Deliveries team could spring a few surprises.

Lug-a-Lot, Drunken Duck, Regulators, Intersport, Fairburn Trust Trojans and Last Post Panthers will be aiming for promotion to the top flight or hoping to avoid the wooden spoon.

The Bowl FC won the first silverware of the season with a 6-3 victory over a sprightly Cosmos side to clinch the Paul Dodd Memorial Trophy for the third year on the trot last weekend.

The prolific Danny Felbabel grabbed a hat-trick with strike partner Jamie Gallienne, skipper John Tough and Brian Tyrrell netting the others.

John Bowden struck twice for Cosmos with Stuart Baker adding a fine free kick.

The draw for the SSL cup first round has been made.

Fermain will face holders AS Wings in the only all-First Division tie on the weekend of 10 October. Moorings Bar have received a bye.

The other ties are as follows: Tiger-St Jacques v. Lug-a-Lot; Drunken Duck v. Monty's Deliveries; The Bowl v. Last Post Panthers; Cosmos v. Intersport; FT Trojans v. Regulators; AS Wings v. Fermain, Le Bees v. Mariners.
