ANDY GRAHAM has plotted the downfall of many a hockey side, now he has turned his hand to golf, with some success. The island hockey coach skippered the MeesPierson Reads works team of RPM to victory in the La Grande Mare Team Open sponsored by Credit Suisse.

Assisted by Dave Gavey, Murray Gilson and Paul Redhead the RPM four amassed 80 Stableford points to pip the Captain's Chosen Ones, headed by Lloyd Gaudion, by one.

After a satisfactory start RPM turned it on on the back nine where they scored 46 points, including three six-point holes.

Forty-one teams turned out for the event, among them third-placed Tried and Tasted, four women from the Royal Guernsey.

The team of Carol Wood, Di Hudson, Mandy Webber and Joan Bichard scored 76 to beat the Under Sixes, a group of low-handicappers from the host club, on countback.
