WHILE court problems caused havoc with the Condor Group League programme, nothing could stop the island's top side, Nerine Trust A. They cruised to an easy and predictable victory against Nerine Trust E.

Inter-club matches are always good-natured with players from the lower-placed teams using the games as valuable experience and the more senior side giving encouragement and enjoying an easy, albeit unchallenging win.

This game was no exception and although Nerine E knew from the outset that there wasn't to be even a sniff at so much as a consolation point they gave their all and searched for opportunities.

Nerine A never broke into a sweat however and enjoyed a changearound during the final quarter to play in somewhat unfamiliar positions.

In Division Two, top sides Guernsey Motor Spares and P&J Conservatories both posted a win with the former claiming the points despite having only six players against Heritage One.

The scores were tied at the end of each quarter but in the closing 15min. GMS sneaked ahead by one.

Heritage battled hard but failed to stop the supply to GS Abby Lajoie, who promptly despatched the ball through the net time and again. Heritage's own shooters were thwarted by the defensive skills of GK Claire Judd ,who earned a player-of-the-match nomination for her troubles.

P&J Conservatories didn't have such a hard time.

Although their match was tied at the interval, P&J stepped up a gear and outscored opponents Nerine Trust F to take a commanding lead in the latter stages.

Meanwhile, Nerine Trust G did the double and won both of their scheduled matches.

During their first against MeesPierson Reads Sarnians Three, Nerine didn't pull away until the second half, but Sarnians weren't quite ready to roll over and thanks to a late burst in the final quarter looked as though they were in with a chance.

But the final whistle came just in time for Nerine, who won by a single goal.

In Division Three, JT Electrics beat Nerine Trust K and PWC outscored Heritage Two despite having only six players.
