THE popularity of the PwC Indoor Cricket Leagues is increasing with three different age groups now having their own competition. This term's under-10 development, under-12 junior and under-15 colts leagues are all up and running with the youngest players based at the Rue Maingy scout hall and the other two groups playing at the Elizabeth College sports hall.

'We have just had the first round of under-10 fixtures and the other two leagues have completed two weeks. All three have been very competitive so far,' said development coach Jason Shambrook.

'Indoor cricket is a good way to work on the fundamentals of the game such as playing straight, bowling accurately and good running between the wickets,' he added.

Alongside the PwC Leagues, a coaching course for under-nines is being run on Monday evenings with around 40 children taking part.

*The Guernsey Young Cricke-ters' Development Committee are holding an evening to celebrate another successful season during 2004 at the Cobo Bay Hotel on Friday 26 November.
