OLYMPIC swimmer James Hickman will be passing on tips and medals at the Guernsey Swimming Club's
presentation evening tonight. Hickman, 28, retired from the sport last month after winning his fifth consecutive world short course 200m butterfly title.
He also competed in his third Olympics in Athens.
'The time is right to retire,' he said at the time. 'I've had a great year and I always wanted to go out on a high.'
Hickman was invited to the dinner after fellow Olympian Adrian Turner visited last year.
He is expected to bring his haul of 36 national and international medals and pose for photographs with club members.
'It is fantastic to have James following Adrian,' said club coach Jo Winberg.
'They are both high-profile swimmers who were both at the Olympics and that's such an incentive to the youngsters who've only seen them on the television.'
Hickman will be conducting coaching clinics with club members today and tomorrow.
