Vice-captain knows his boss's game well
THE new vice-captain at La Grande Mare Golf Club obviously knows his captain's game very well.
THE new vice-captain at La Grande Mare Golf Club obviously knows his captain's game very well. Grande Mare members had to guess where David Richards' tee shots on the par three 10th would come to rest at the captain's annual drive-in.
Richards hit three consecutive shots and despite a large gallery and a strong crosswind, the third finished only an inch-and-a-half from the hole. The closest prediction came from vice-captain Mike Le Poidevin.
The event raised more than £100 for the tsunami appeal.
More than 80 members took part in the shotgun start of the Stableford competition.
Hugh Bromley won with 38 points, with Robbie Law second and Dave Blondel third, both with 34 points.
The club also have a new Ladies' Section captain in Glynis Seal.
* ROYAL GUERNSEY members past and present will be mourning the passing of Terry (T. C.) Vaudin, a former captain of the club and father of island star and former island champion Nigel.
