JT ELECTRICS' debut season in the Condor Group League could yet end in triumph and a trophy in the cabinet. Cheryl Tough's team went one point clear at the top of Division Three last week with the 10 points received from back-to-back wins over MeesPiersonReads Sarnians Three and Nerine Trust G.

To date, they have lost just once in 12 starts and top the table by a single point from Autumn Gold One, but in a tight league, third-placed PWC cannot be ruled out; they are just four points behind.

This evening JT Electrics and Autumn Gold One meet for the second time this season and the former are out to avenge their only league defeat of the season.

Tough's team get their name from her husband's company.

Finding a sponsor did not prove too difficult as Cheryl 'twisted his arm' and in a stroke, the kit, balls and court fees were provided by him.

The team train on Sundays between 10.30am and noon at Amherst School and the kit is definitely eye-catching - grey polo shirt/sweatshirt and scarlet skirts.

They are coached by Joe Abbotts and for training they join forces with Heritage in order to work on skills and match play.

The captain got the team together after asking her sister-in-law, Jackie Gaudion, if she would like to return to netball after a four-year break.

After talking to various friends, JT Electrics was born.

The team comprises: Tough (club captain), Alana Ogier, Sadie Jones, Alex Palmeri, Andy Le Poidevin, Jackie Gaudion, Tracey Teed, Melissa Green and Ashley Senna.

The captain says playing netball is a good reason to get of the house. It keeps them fit and they can enjoy the social aspect too.

'By making netball fun and having a nice team to play in should encourage women and girls back into netball,' says Tough. 'Anyone can play.'

Meanwhile, Nerine Trust A continue to stay well clear at the top of Division One. Last week they beat both TCCI and Barclays Masters.

Although never in danger of beating the champions, both TCCI and Barclays Masters worked very hard, so much so that Nerine A nominated the whole Masters team for the traditional player-of-the-match award.

Elsewhere in the division MeesPiersonReads Sarnians Two fell victim to Nerine B.

Both teams showed strength in the circle, with Sarnians' Katie Wallen and Nerine's Anna Trump being recognised as players of the match.

Division Three saw Autumn Gold One pick up five easy points after Heritage Two were unable to field a team and their sister club, Autumn Gold Two, also picked up points with a win against Nerine Trust K.

In another game this week, GMS and P & J Conservatories clash tomorrow at 7pm in a clash crucial to the destination of the Division Two title.
