PATRICK OGIER has captured another title after beating Dominic McLuskey in the final of the Ariel under-18 boys' competition at Long Camps. The first set was closely fought, dominated by quality ground strokes and big serving from both players and it pointed to an epic battle between two hard hitting baseliners.

However, after Ogier took it 6-4, McLuskey's fitness and temper got the better of him in the second while his opponent stepped up a level and remained calm.

The 6-0 score left the crowd with a rather flat end to what had promised to be a very good contest.

The tournament was in preparation for the under-18 boys' County Cup, which is being held in Glasgow from 25 to 27 February.

'We have a very strong and balanced squad for this tournament and we are going to Glasgow with a mission,' said Channel Islands team manager Pieter Theron.
