WHILE champions-elect Nerine Trust A were swamping MPR Sarnians Two 82-17, faltering title-challengers MPR Sarnians One were struggling to overcome TCCI. Sarnians had to step up a gear in the last five minutes to edge away and win 54-46, but TCCI at least won one game, against Nerine D.

In other top-flight matches, Nerine B beat Barclays Masters, for whom Julie Donaldson was in fine shooting form and popping in goals from all around the circle, while at the other end, Elaine Creed was making it difficult for the Nerine shooters.

In Division Two, leaders P & J Conservatories increa-sed their lead with a 46-34 win over Heritage One.

In the same division, K & R Flooring edged out Nerine Trust G 21-20 to gain their second win.

Larissa Rabey, the winners' GD, made some excellent interceptions and deserved her player-of-the-match nomination.

Meanwhile, Nerine F beat Ship & Crown 49-37 in a match in which Nerine shooters Lisa Martin and Shelley de Lisle were in fine form and did not miss many shots.

GMS played exceptionally well to earn a draw in their game with MPR Sarnians Three, especially as they had only five players.

There was an outstanding performance by Katie Cochrane who pulled off many timely interceptions to win the player-of-the-match nomination.

In Division Three, Close Encounters narrowly beat Autumn Gold One 41-40.

Autumn Gold started well even though they were a player short and some excellent shooting by Lana Bougourd saw them only one goal down at half time.

However, Close Encoun-ters eventually took advantage of the extra player and pulled away slightly in the third quarter. The last period saw Autumn Gold level again but then be sunk by a last-minute goal.
