GUERNSEY survived a poor first-half display to retain the under-21 'Muratti' for the Ambassadeur Bowl at Springfield yesterday. 'There was only one team in it in the first half,' admitted coach Steve Ogier who was thankful for keeper Richard Davey keeping his side on level terms at half-time.

In the closing minutes of the first period Davey twice made superb saves, but he was at fault when Luc Le Miere fired Jersey ahead on 58 minutes.

Within a minute Dominic Heaume equalised with a fine header and on 66min. Dave Rihoy grabbed the winner.

The match was delayed more than an hour due to the Guernsey team being stuck at a fog-shrouded airport.
