SIX new championship records were set in the second round of the 2005 NRG Series staged by the Beau Sejour Barracudas, the sprint butterfly and backstroke events. Fastest times of the day and records in both events went to Thomas Hollingsworth.

Robyn Le Friec was the fastest female overall in the 50m butterfly, her time of 30.78sec. being a personal best, as well as a new record.

Rachael Le Page won the backstroke title in the fastest time of the session, 34.16sec., another personal best time.

Nine-year-old Kristina Neves also set new marks in both events.

In a spirited performance in the 25m butterfly she improved on her best time by an astonishing seven seconds to break the record set by Fiona Strobridge back in 1997 by three seconds, to set a new time of 16.85sec. seconds.

Neves then went on to take the backstroke title in another new record time of 39.57sec.

Pushed all the way by second-placed Cody Butcher in both events, Lotte then went on to record a further life-time best in the 50m butterfly by three seconds, to take the title in 41.51sec.

Throughout the age groups there were some excellent personal bests with 10-year-old Alicia Munro making the greatest improvement in the 50m butterfly by over 17 seconds to place third in her age group in 46.45sec.
