GOING out last in the Credit Suisse Trophy had its advantages for Danny Bisson. The L'Ancresse member was the overnight scratch leader by four shots heading into the fourth round, in which he didn't tee off until 6pm as part of the final grouping along with Jamie Blondel and Chris Duncan.

By that time, Bobby Eggo had posted a superb 65 for a 72-hole gross total of 277.

That was the culmination of a consistent week for him and followed on from rounds of 68, 72 and 66.

'It was just a case of getting it around. I was pretty steady and kept the ball in play, which was the important thing,' said the man who has been in fine form of late, particularly on the greens.

'Generally, I am happy with the way I am playing. I am getting better each week, but I am still working on a few things in my game.'

Bisson added that all the competitors were helped by excellent conditions and it was no surprise to see many low scores being handed in.

'There was virtually no wind. The worst it got was on Friday afternoon, but even then it wasn't bad. It was a pretty good week for golf and the course was set up perfectly.'

Having had little time to celebrate his success, Bisson is now focusing on the forthcoming weekend when he will be in Jersey playing for his club in the Alexander Forbes Golf League at Grouville.

He said to beat Jersey clubs in their own backyard was 'a massive task', but it is a challenge he is looking forward to.

After that, of course, Bisson will be off to the NatWest Island Games.
