SUE WELLFAIR is celebrating the unique achievement of winning all five of the Royal Guernsey Ladies' matchplay titles in one season. The eight-handicap won the Noel, Miles, Festival, Shaw and Elliott trophies, not to mention the club's winter fourball championship and the Trident Trophy medal.

Before the season is

out - and there is only one regular competition left - she can expect to add

the Baudains aggregate trophy.

'I'm well clear and with just one competition to play can't be caught,' said Wellfair, who was part of the Guernseyteam at this year's NatWest Island Games.

'It's definitely my best season yet,' said the island regular.

But one title continues to elude her - the island championship.

'It's the one thing left which I'd like to win.

Jenny Kimber, captain of the Ladies' Section, says: 'I take my hat off to her'.

'It's a fantastic achievement to get into five finals and win all of them.

'Everyone at the club is talking about it.'

And the captain says Wellfair's elusive island title is not beyond her.

'The way she is playing she is good enough to win it.

'Her game has improved no end this season.

'Her all-round game is so solid.'
