Dorey sweats
CRAIG DOREY has been left sweating on his outdoor bowls future.
CRAIG DOREY has been left sweating on his outdoor bowls future. The talented youngster had hoped to be cleared or at least learn his fate when he appeared before a Bowls Guernsey hearing last night, to answer the allegation that he wasted the cost of a return ticket to the British Championships.
Dorey, who has already suffered the disappointment of missing out on a Commonwealth Games place, attended the hearing with Steve Desperques, vice-chairman of the Guernsey Indoor Bowling Association.
Desperques supported Dorey's claims that he had made it clear to the bowls' authorities that he was not intending to go to the British Isles.
Having heard their evidence the Bowls Guernsey council deferred a decision.
'So I still don't know whether I'm banned or whether I will be able to play.
'I would have liked to know tonight what was happening.'
