SHANE TANGUY holds the current bragging rights in his golfing family - after his first hole-in-one. The 13-year-old was playing with fellow Guernsey Junior Golf Club member Adam Martel at L'Ancresse when his six-iron to the seventh went straight into the hole.
Dad Neil was delighted for his son, but groaned: 'It took me 30 years to get one and it's taken him just three.'
Tanguy junior, who is the grandson of former Royal Guernsey captains Jock and Marion Tanguy, was initially unaware of his achievement.
With the pin being tucked just behind the bunker at the front of the green he did not see the ball go in and thought it might have gone over the back until his young partner discovered it in the cup.
His hole-in-one leaves the Tanguy family with only the 18th missing from a full set of aces at L'Ancresse, Neil's having arrived at the 12th and Jock's at the third.
