GUERNSEY'S star South African half-backs Willoughby Bloem and Francois Venter will be available for four more games this season including, the big one, the Siam Cup. 'We've managed to get Willoughby and Francois to stay on until after the Camberley game on 14 January. They will be off on the 15th but we've got agreement that they will be back for the Siam,' said coach Colin McLatchie who is looking for his in-form side to maintain their winning ways away to Tottonians tomorrow.
The coach, however, does not want his team to get ahead of themselves as they pursue a solid finish in the division after a dreadful start.
'What is most important is securing league safety.'
Guernsey thrashed tomorrow's opposition 39-0 when they met at Foote's Lane last month and the coach does not expect them to play any differently.
'I'm expecting a harder game. They got ''nilled'' last time and they won't have liked that. We know what to expect. They will try and play the 10-man game.
'If we can take this lot away we will go ahead of the teams on 10 points on goal difference.'
'I reckon we can still get in the top four or five. That's realistic.'
McLatchie is also hopeful of upsetting the still unbeaten leaders, Camberley, when they visit in mid-January.
''We are hoping to take them down on the 14th.
'They have won 10 out of 10 but they are not romping away in games like Jersey did last year. Camberley are sneaking one here and sneaking one there.'
The team news is positive ahead of the Tottonians clash.
'It will be the same team except that Will Wyatt is unavailable, so Ben Le Huray will slot in at fullback.
'The only decision I have to make is who to put on the bench as backs replacement.
'Matt Morgan will travel down to Southampton and meet us down there,' said a coach who expects the Welsh No. 8 to quickly brush off the rustiness he showed in his first game back last weekend.
'He's been out running all week to get his fitness levels up. His match fitness will come up quickly.'
Guernsey now lie ninth in the 12-team league but can feasibly move up into the top six with another win.
