JEREMY OSBORNE and Ian Hubert have been dramatically added to Guernsey's Commonwealth Games team. GCGA chairman Peter Sirett announced the decision yesterday after he revealed that the selectors had reconsidered evidence provided by the Guernsey Amateur Swimming Association.

'At the time the nominations were considered, some information was not clarified to the selectors, as a result of which they were unable to make an informed decision on the make-up of the men's relay team,' Sirett said.

'The swimmers selected would not have been able to form the three relay teams as advised by Gasa.

'After further discussions, the selectors supported the nomination of Jeremy Osborne and Ian Hubert. The GCGA is pleased to announce that, following ratification by members of the council, Osborne and Hubert have been selected to form part of the Guernsey swimming team at the XVII Commonwealth Games in Melbourne.'
