ELIZABETH COLLEGE have shown that they are not to be taken lightly, losing only 2-1 to Isabelle Beavers in the Investec Men's Division One. In recent seasons Beavers would have won at a canter, but it is testament to how good the current College team are that they were only defeated by one goal.

At times the students ran the show, with forward Jonathan Wilkes-Green looking particularly dangerous.

Beavers took the lead halfway through the first half thanks to Simon Beck with a tap in goal that would have been cancelled out by Dave Morris if he had put away a penalty flick.

With the College now pulling the strings, their eventual equaliser came at a short corner in the second half.

But with 10 minutes of play left, it was Beavers who got the winner from Barry Wallace's deadly drag-flick.
