PricewaterhouseCoopers do the league and cup double

PRICEWATERHOUSECOOPERS have emerged as winners of both the league and cup titles in this winter's business competition. Despite their clean sweep, PwC did not have it all their own way, with Credit Suisse, Bank of Butterfield and Brewin Dolphin pushing them.
Ultimately, the title went to PwC after a 4-3 win over Mees-Pierson, the victory taking them just two points clear of worthy adversaries Brewin Dolphin.
The cup final produced the anticipated showdown between PwC and Brewin Dolphin.
The league champions were without key defender Iain Walker for the game and as expected, the first 40 minutes produced gritty, determined and pleasing-to-the-eye hockey from both sides.
It was 3-2 to PwC at the break.
Tim Creasey scored early for the league champions and although Dave Clarke and Rupert Isles both hit equalisers, two exocets from midfield general Guy Rogers saw PwC enjoy a one-goal advantage at half-time.
The second half produced much of the same but with that extra edge injected as Brewins fought to stem the tide.
But it proved to be all too much as Creasey notched his second to put the game at an unrecoverable 4-2.
