DAVE PIESING'S 11-ball 17 steered Praxis Pessimists over the finish line at the KGV last evening with three balls to spare. Set 83 to win in 16 overs by C&W Rovers, Pessimists were easing towards a straightforward two points at 50 without loss after 10 overs. But John Tall then took the wickets of both openers in successive overs and with Tim Belton and James Warr out of the way Rovers sniffed a chance.
Tall struck again and when Pierre Moody was run out, Rovers were right back in it.
But they had not banked on Piesing scoring quite as freely as he did and with five need off the last he did the trick.
