JULIAN WOODHARD shot the outstanding round on day two of the 72-holer at L'Ancr-esse, his one-under gross 69 putting him in contention for both trophies at stake. Woodhard, the former island player, moved into joint second in the handicap stakes for the UV Trophy, courtesy of his net 65, and lies fourth in the Credit Suisse standings off scratch, just three adrift of leader Mick Marley.
The latter adedd a 73 to his opening 70 and leads by one from Jamie Blondel and two from Nigel Vaudin.
Woodhard is level with Bobby Eggo on 146.
