TIM RAVENSCROFT hit his second century in 24 hours as the Guernsey under-15s beat their East of Scotland counterparts by 87 runs in Edinburgh. The all-rounder followed up his 105 against Northumberland Under-16s with 114 against the Scots.
In a 40-over game, Guernsey scored 223 for six with Will Thompson (35) and Oliver Lepp (33 not out) supporting their free-scoring skipper in two half-century partnerships.
In reply, East of Scotland were dismissed for 134 with slow left-armer Max Ellis doing the damage with six for 20 in a five-over spell.
Back at the KGV, Jody Bisson continued his fine form with the bat but in a thrilling finish could not quite pull off a remarkable win for C&W Rovers over Clubhouse Optimists.
Bisson hit 85 not out from just 47 balls as Rovers, chasing 176 to win in 18 overs, fell just one short.
With 13 required from the final over bowled by GH Smit, the Rovers opener was left needing to hit the final two deliveries for four or more to pull off an unlikely win.
He smashed the penultimate ball through mid-wicket - where so many of his runs came - but Mark Clapham was there on the deep square boundary to intervene. His next flat pull and a run two was not quite enough for the dark blues to celebrate.
Optimists' win keeps alive their faint hopes of winning the Barclays Division One title and that they were able to owed much to their opponents fielding one shot for the majority of the blacks' innings.
With gaps aplenty, Smit smashed 58 from 39 balls faced, Tim de Putron 46 from 26 and Ian Damarell 30 from 21 in a grand tally of 175 for four.
