THE Richmond Masters had too much guile and ability for the emerging Nerine G side when they clashed in one of five Condor Ferries Division One league games at Beau Sejour. The Masters enjoyed the upper hand from the first whistle and the height of their defence, Sam Collins and Julie Wright, made it virtually impossible for the smaller Nerine G shooters to claim any rebounds in a 40-13 final scoreline.

Other Nerine sides enjoyed more success.

The E side beat Heritage One 28-16 but not before a spirited first-half performance from the latter who led 11-10 at halfway.

But the half-time rain had a damaging effect on Heritage.

Passes started to go astray and with Jess Batiste finding her range in the shooting circle, Nerine hit back to win the match 28-26.

Nerine D came out on top in their inter-club game against F.

Shooters Kiara de Carteret and Kirsty Young fired F into a 10-8 lead at the end of the first quarter, Joan Ozanne also enjoying a fine game at centre.

But as D settled, WD Katie Seabrook and GD Emma Brookes began to make timely interceptions and having got their noses in front, they went on to win 34-28.

Fortis Sarnians Two started strongly against P&J Conservatories One and with Zoe Batiste on fire in the circle by the end of the opening 15min., they were cruising at 17-4 to the good.

Centre Megan Hearse was also having a fine game but P&J hit back in the latter stages with some good shooting from Jan McCurdy and Natalie Gilman, matching Sarnians goal for goal in the third quarter.

The game had speeded up considerably by the last quarter and although P&J outscored their opponents, it was far too late and Sarnians won 52-34.
