ISLAND champions Nerine have secured another win in the South Region League, beating Swan at Beau Sejour late on Friday night. The Guernsey side beat their English counterparts 52-43 to add to their win over Applemore and coach Gill Queripel was extremely happy.

'Our side came out like a steam train for the first quarter,' she said.

Swan began to fight back in the second quarter but Nerine became more settled in the third and held on to win.

'Kerri Brown and Nena Bourgaize shot really well,' said Queripel.

'Our young defence were great and Claire Queripel ran her socks off in the middle,' she said.
