HERITAGE ONE endured a busy week in Condor Ferries League Division One. They enjoyed a competitive first half against Fortis Sarnians Two with some fluent centre court play from both teams and defences were kept on their toes.

But Sarnians took control in the third quarter as their opponents began to tire.

WA Marie Barkaway worked tirelessly throughout the game to bring the ball down to her shooters and although Kristina Le Page worked hard in defence for Heritage, they could not prevent Sarnians coming out winners 30-20.

However, Heritage had more joy in their other fixture of the week against

P & J Conservatories One.

Strong defence in the third quarter helped them pull ahead following another close first half.

Some great shots from the edge of the circle by GS Ali Guillou took Heritage to a 24-19 victory.

P & J Conservatories One also had two games and unfortunately for them they lost to Nerine E, 38-22, as well.

Richmond Masters and Nerine D produced what at the start seemed to be an even contest, but even the strong defending partnership of Julie Wright and Elaine Creed could not stop Nerine coming out 28-13 winners.

The division's only other game saw Nerine F beat G 42-20.

Division Two saw P & J Conservatories Two take on top-of-the-table Heritage Two.

Both teams started quite tentatively, adjusting to the wet conditions under foot and to the wind.

P & J's young GS Steph Batiste started off well, converting the majority of her shots and holding her own against older opposition, but Heritage had pulled well ahead by half-time.

They took their foot off the gas somewhat in the third and P & J battled hard, with a switch in the circle with Batiste moving to GA and Cath Coutanche coming in at GS proving a good tactic.

But Heritage maintained their advantage and ran out 47-35 winners.

The division's other two games saw Fortis Sarnians Three lose to PWC 14-41 and Nerine H lose to HSBC Honeys 18-38.
