THE Sirens have set the early pace in the PWC under-15 indoor cricket league with two wins in their opening matches of the season.

THE Sirens have set the early pace in the PWC under-15 indoor cricket league with two wins in their opening matches of the season. The team have been boosted by the inclusion of two young girls to complement the existing senior players.

The Sirens have seen off the challenge of boys' under-15 sides in two closely fought matches.

Leading the run scoring charts is James Smith with 24, Roy van Leuven (22) and Kimberley Moss (21), while Dominic O'Brien is the league's leading wicket taker with four.

In the PWC under-12 league, the Scorpions have won all three of their matches so far, with the Lizards placed second with two victories.

Tom Veillard is the league's top run scorer with 35, closely followed by Matthew Beck on 30 and Charlton Avery (26). The top wicket takers are Jordan Cameron with seven, Ryan Harris on six and Connor Morrissey (five).

Both leagues are at the half-way stage with the semi-finals to played in the week beginning 5 March. The finals are to be played on 12 March.
