NERINE A go into tomorrow's 'Upton' with a nothing-to-lose attitude. The Guernsey champions are missing five key players for their trip to face Convent A in Jersey - island stars Claire Queripel, Nena Bourgaize, Kerri Brown, Donna Brehaut and Amy Wright are all unavailable - but Gill Queripel said her side will have a positive approach.
'We have good strength in depth so we will do the best we can,' the Nerine coach said.
'Out of our first team squad of 12, we are somewhat decimated, but we are not downbeat and the girls who are playing will do really well.
'They have all played South Region this season and we achieved what we wanted to in that, so they are progressing well.'
Convent A boast a squad of island representatives and are confident of retaining their CI crown, although coach Linda Andrews is taking nothing for granted.
'It is always nerve-racking because you never know what Guernsey are going to throw up - you can never underestimate them,' she said.
Nerine D are in the Division Two match against St Ouen B while Heritage Two and St Brelade B will battle it out for Division Three honours.
