BRUTAL in the extreme, South African star GH Smit destroyed Rovers at Port Soif with an unbeaten 94 to make it three wins out of three for St Pierre. Totally dominating St Pierre's reply to Rovers' very useful 133 for five in 16 overs, Smit cracked seven fours and two sixes to see the visitors home with 11 balls to spare.

Justin Walker, Saints' stand-in skipper, described Smit's knock as 'absolutely awesome'.

'To get 94 out of 133 was awesome,' he added, before saying he was always positive that his side could chase down what was a fairly impressive total.

'Yes, I was confident with our batting line-up and on that pitch. There were twos everywhere with those big boundaries. I was surprised they put us in.'

Saints' numbers two, three and four scored eight between them, but by the time the third of those, Jarrod Avery, went, the score had raced onto 51 in six overs.

Thereafter Smit, with Walker pushing the ones and twos at the other end, tore into the home bowling.

Nobody was spared and without Tim Duke, Rovers had no answer. Smit's half-century came up off 30 balls.

Earlier, Ryan Bishop had cracked a quickfire 44 from 33 balls and Jody Bisson a fine 43 from 38, as Rovers happily tucked into some ordinary bowling on a chilly, grey evening.

At KGV, Cobo made it two wins out of two with their own crushing win over Corinthians.

Having restricted Corinth-ians' young line-up to 76 for three - Will Thompson 38 not out - Matt Oliver smashed 51 from 26 balls and in partnership with TJ Ozanne (24) rushed his side to a 10-wicket win in just 7.4 overs.

Cobo have yet to lose a wicket in the short game this season and, mouth-wateringly, play St Pierre next week.
