AFTER leading the Credit Suisse Trophy at the end of the opening round, Tom Le Huray has now taken over at the top of the UV leader board. The Guernsey Junior Club captain, who plays off five, added a net 69 to his 67 from the opening day to open up a two-shot lead from Niall Counihan.
Peter Crosland had the best net round of the day - a 66 - and is a further shot back with Le Huray's predecessor as junior captain Emile Thompson one of three players on 141, along with fellow teenager Jamie Le Page and senior Steve Birkett.
Le Huray is still in contention for the Credit Suisse scratch honours as he holds second place, but multi-time island champion Nigel Vaudin rose to the top of the pile yesterday thanks to a gross 71.
The pack forming behind him is impressive, though, with Danny Blondel, David Nicolle and Bobby Eggo completing the top five at the halfway stage.
